Pocket App Reviews

Subscription apps should be in their own CLEAR category. So people like me can stay clear. Not find out after I pay. Then I have to deal with Apple’s difficult to get a refund system.

Please, add Reccomendation tab to Mac app :(

I can save a web page using Pocket, but I cant export the results to my computer, either directly or through reading apps, and I cant sideload the results onto my e-reader. Apparently, if Pocket cant categorize a page as an article, video, or image, Pocket cant do anything with the article. It is ridiculously hard to set up, and then it is impossible to use, and it spams me with emails.

I think this app needs a work over… 2014 since its last update??? why? I like to see apps that get regular updates.

Since Pocket portrays itself as a Mac app, it seems one should be able to add items by dragging and dropping them onto its Dock icon or into the Pocket window, and yet.…

Pocket’s one of my most used services, which is why it’s so disappointing to see that this app hasn’t been updated since 2014. The app has to be installed in order to have it appear in the Share menu, but that’s the only use for it these days. None of the new features (e.g Recommended Articles) they’ve added have been brought to the Mac app, meaning the only way you can actually take advantage of using the new features is to use the web-interface.

For purposes of collecting articles and the like for later reading, Pocket has consistenly been my go-to. It’s not a cornucopia of features, but rather focuses on what it does do and does that very well. It’s cross-platform availability (and its quality on each & every platform) is absolutely greatly. And it’s easily one of the most intuitive, visually pleasing, smoth interaction, and generally “slick” apps I’ve used. I’m no UX pro, but I’d bet this is right up there among the best.

Ultimately I see the results of me reading more often but pocket has helped take away the distraction of having to read immediately or loose the article. I just save it and binge at convenient times. It’s an awesome utility for readers.

Pocket for Mac is great for making a personal reading list of articles from blogs and other web pages, Facebook posts, images, PDFs, and video clips. Just add a bookmarklet to your browser and click away. The OS version actually lacks the tile view of articles and the profile page that are both found on Pocket for iPad. The Mac version still has all the essentials: current and archived lists, tags, share button, font size adjustments, filter by content type, and the choice of original web page view or “clean” article-only view. I use the free, basic service and find that most web articles remain intact for a long time. If you want to archive things that tend to be ephemeral like social media posts, or just want to insure that you keep your web articles, consider a premium subscription.

For the last 5 years, this app is my favorite on my Mac Book Pro. No more filling up the bookmarks. This app holds so much stuff I find on the internet, especially things I’ve saved from years ago and forgot. Perfect for online recipes. Love it.

if only we could search the articles content and not only the title it would add another star

How to deal without? when you dont have time to read all articles of interest. SO much better than Instapaper (that I started with…). Keep the development going !

Très bonne application qui me permet de lire ma sélection d’articles dans le train. Un petit effort à faire sur la lisibilité cependant : texte gris sur fond blanc, c’est assez fatigant. Dommage qu’il n’existe pas, comme sur iPad, un thème « sombre » ! Ca méritera alors une 5ème étoile ! Very good app to read articles selection on railways. Some effort has yet to be done on readability : grey text on white background is hard. Why not a « dark » theme as on iPad ? Fifth star is worth it !

I read and save articles everyday with Pocket. I really recommended it!! A must-have app!!

One of the best app created for multi- devices. I personaly use it every day, please keep the good work and sleek design.
