1. Meta tagging is poorly implemented in the desktop app. It takes many seconds for tag suggestions to show up and every change has noticeable lag before you get feedback, almost always with the rainbow spinning wheel. This is an example of shoddy software design and a huge annoyance if I save a bunch of content and want to tag it later. Pocket also does a very poor job at suggesting tags. There is also no way to edit tags, for situation where you might have two different tags for the same thing or a misspelled tag. You should also be able to search for and bulk edit documents. (And even bulk editing does not allow you to search for and edit groups of documents. You have to scroll through a list of tiles. But what if you have thousands of documents, which common sense should have indicated to the developers is a very likely and common scenario.)
2. PDFs are not well supported. I save a lot of scientific and technical papers but Pocket can’t properly title these documents. That is bad enough but given that both PDFs and some web pages are mistimed with considerable frequency, the developers should have enabled users to add their own titles to saved documents. Instead, they leave users up the creek without a paddle.
This desktop app should have the suffix, lite or beta. Its just not up to snuff.
