Pocket App Reviews

Pocket sets the standard, but I have a suggestion

The app is amazing, simple, and ALWAYS working like a charm. One thing that would need to be improved though is that we can’t “add to pocket” when we open a link in the Facebook or Twitter App native browsers (i.e. we need to “open in Safari” and then we can save). If you could address this tiny little issue, I’ll gladly give you a well deserved sixth star. Keep up the good work!

Now I read interesting articles when I have time

Beside saving all the articles I want to read when I have time, I also use it to keep an archive of all the best stuff on the internet. Nothing like it for simplicity, workability and that makes it one of only a handful of apps that I can’t do without. Also works great with iOS, my iPhone and iPad and everything syncs.

Simplicity is good, need some additional features though

Pros.: - Beautifully crafted smooth UI - Can fetch articles for offline access Cons.: - Cannot add tags for multiple entries not like their web site - Encountered garbling when opening articles which contain Japanese

All your articles when you want them

I’ve found Pocket really useful on my morning commute and while travelling. I am able to read the news and articles I want while riding the subway/metro to work or while roaming. It still doesn’t play nice with some websites and articles such as LinkedIn and Prismatic but works really well with most other platforms and websites.

Essential!

Pocket has been the most important tool I have for organizing and sharing my reading material and research. It’s used several times every day and is on the favourites list on all my devices. You could say I kind of depend on it.

I can

This app change my internet experience a lot, totally recommended.

Nice app, but doesn’t work offline

Overall, Pocket is a great service. Too bad the Mac version doesn’t seem to work when you’re not connected to internet (e.g. on a plane). Loading spinner just spins forever.

It’s the greatest tool for researching anything on internet

Awesome service

Awesome sause

I love it very orgazied

Great App, simple!

I love this app and I use it all the time. Its really handy to have all your reading list sent to your iPhone or iPad (or any Mac). Allows you to read anything offline in a nice looking format. I love this app and I highly recommend it!

Useless when offline

The app wont even start up when my computers not connected to the internet. That makes this app completely useless when travelling. Also, whats the point of syncing up articles if you cant read them when offline anyway? I bumped it up to 2 stars because I love the innovative design or whatever. Also because I know everyone ignores the 1 star ratings that this app deserves.

Great app, but...

Love the app and use it every day. Awesome for saving stuff to read later but this app for Apple has a major problem with video. It is really becomming a problem! Please fix!

Great app

Use this app regulary. Fantastic!

Not for professional research

1. Meta tagging is poorly implemented in the desktop app. It takes many seconds for tag suggestions to show up and every change has noticeable lag before you get feedback, almost always with the rainbow spinning wheel. This is an example of shoddy software design and a huge annoyance if I save a bunch of content and want to tag it later. Pocket also does a very poor job at suggesting tags. There is also no way to edit tags, for situation where you might have two different tags for the same thing or a misspelled tag. You should also be able to search for and bulk edit documents. (And even bulk editing does not allow you to search for and edit groups of documents. You have to scroll through a list of tiles. But what if you have thousands of documents, which common sense should have indicated to the developers is a very likely and common scenario.) 2. PDFs are not well supported. I save a lot of scientific and technical papers but Pocket can’t properly title these documents. That is bad enough but given that both PDFs and some web pages are mistimed with considerable frequency, the developers should have enabled users to add their own titles to saved documents. Instead, they leave users up the creek without a paddle. This desktop app should have the suffix, lite or beta. Its just not up to snuff.

After all, If you have most anything.

I think applications that can be easily understood by anyone up to this point, there is no function named read later.

Great app

Hands down, one of the best applications I have downloaded recently. With pocket you dont have to clutter your browser with tabs or bookmarks. All you need to do is click your browser extension and voila, the article you wish to read is saved for later use. This is especially useful if you are using multiple machines as well, like myself.

One star for your popup
